This well-resourced school, based in the heart of Merton is
currently recruiting for a male SEN teaching assistant and will be required to
commit to the role on a long-term basis. As an SEN teaching Assistant, you will
be working closely with pupils who present behavioural challenges, offering
consistent and structured support to help them engage with learning and develop
positive coping strategies. The role requires someone who is calm under
pressure, resilient, and confident in managing difficult situations using
positive behaviour techniques and de-escalation strategies. Building strong,
trusting relationships with students will be key, as will working
collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to maintain a safe,
inclusive, and stable classroom environment.
The ideal SEN teaching assistant will have previous
experience working with students with behavioural needs, and will bring a
compassionate, patient approach combined with a genuine commitment to helping
every child reach their potential. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented
attitude are essential.
