Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs?

Do you have the empathy and resilience to help students re-engage with education and reach their full potential?

-Immediate start
-Community-based position across Tower Hamlets and East London
-Supportive and inclusive SEN school environment
-Excellent training and development opportunities

We are seeking a dedicated Outreach Learning Mentor to join a specialist SEN school in East London. This unique role focuses on supporting pupils with autism and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs through outreach work in the community.

As an Outreach Learning Mentor, you will visit students off-site to check on their progress, build positive relationships, and help them develop strategies to improve behaviour, confidence, and engagement. You will provide practical and emotional support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and reintegrate into education where possible.

Working closely with teachers, parents, and the pastoral team, you will identify areas for improvement, set achievable goals with each student, and track their progress over time. Each day will bring something different, offering the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

To be successful, you should have previous experience working with students who display challenging behaviour or SEMH needs, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently within the community. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach is essential.

If you’re ready to take on a rewarding outreach role that transforms lives and helps young people succeed beyond the classroom, apply today to join a passionate and supportive SEN team!
