We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in the Tonbridge area. The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing a structured and supportive environment where staff work collaboratively to help students develop both academically and personally.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them access learning activities while managing challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner. You will work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to promote engagement, positive behaviour and emotional regulation, while helping pupils build confidence and independence within the classroom.
To be successful, you must have extensive experience working with children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviour, particularly within an SEMH environment. Strong behaviour management skills, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils are essential.
