Job Description

Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist willing to learn BSL and passionate about supporting deaf children and young people with special educational needs?

Do you have the skills and dedication to help create an inclusive, communication-rich environment where every pupil can develop independence and thrive?

- Part-time role (Tuesday to Thursday) starting ASAP
- Supportive specialist SEN school environment
- Multidisciplinary team setting
- Competitive salary

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a specialist SEN school in the Clapham area. The provision supports children and young people with special educational needs, the majority of whom are D/deaf or have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) alongside additional needs. The school provides a structured and inclusive environment where communication, independence and wellbeing are at the centre of learning.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will manage a caseload of pupils, delivering assessments and targeted interventions to support sensory processing, motor skills and functional independence. You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to implement strategies that support access to learning and daily activities, while contributing to EHCPs and providing guidance to staff and families.

To be successful, you should hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be HCPC registered. Experience working within a school or with children with additional needs is desirable. A willingness to learn British Sign Language (BSL) and develop communication skills within a deaf education setting is essential. Strong communication skills, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs are key.

If you are ready to make a meaningful impact in a specialist SEN setting and develop your skills further, apply today and take the next step in your career.
