An exciting opportunity has arisen as a SEN Teaching
Assistant for a Lower School, located in Merton, supporting pupils with autism
and complex needs in a value led SEND environment. This welcoming school is
seeking full time commitment and potential for a long-term role. The school is
known for collaboration amongst teachers, therapists and support staff to meet
individual pupil needs. It would be an ideal environment who is passionate about
inclusive education and eager to make a difference.
As a SEN teaching assistant, you will work closely with
pupils on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning in small class
settings. Responsibilities are to maintain a safe, calm and structured learning
environment. The school caters to a range of complex needs, including social
and emotional difficulties, mental health challenges and Autism. Your ability
to assist with emotional regulation, behaviour support, and engagement with
empathy and professionalism will be the key to your success.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with
children or young people with special educational needs and a strong desire to
support children. You should be calm, patient, and have an empathetic approach
to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
