Job Description

Are you an experienced Physics Teacher who enjoys bringing Science to life and helping young people experience those wonderful 'lightbulb' moments?

Would you love to join a welcoming secondary school in Southwark where your ideas are valued, your expertise is appreciated and every pupil is encouraged to achieve their best?

-Fantastic transport links into the school/Southwark area
-A jovial and welcoming school team and environment
-Exciting opportunity to lead a Key Stage and help shape the Science curriculum
-Friendly, collaborative colleagues and excellent professional learning opportunities
-Perkbox rewards and discounted gym memberships for eligible school employees

Martin at Education 365 is delighted to be partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Southwark to find an inspiring Science Teacher with a Physics specialism for a rewarding fixed-term opportunity.

We would love to hear from knowledgeable, approachable teachers who bring warmth and enthusiasm to the classroom, make challenging ideas feel accessible and genuinely enjoy seeing young people grow in confidence.

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular strength in Physics. You will adapt learning to different needs, monitor progress and help pupils develop curiosity, independence and a real enjoyment of Science.

There is also a fantastic opportunity to make an impact beyond your own classroom by leading a Key Stage, developing creative schemes of work, supporting pupils who need extra encouragement and sharing ideas with a supportive Science team.

The school would love to meet qualified teachers with a relevant degree, QTS and at least three years of teaching experience. Strong Physics knowledge, an understanding of GCSE and A-level requirements, confident classroom management and experience mentoring or supporting colleagues will be particularly valued.

This is a seven-month fixed-term position, with a 32.5-hour full-time working week; part-time applications are also considered. The published £40,389–£62,560 salary is the school's annual full-time direct-employment scale, with any agency PAYE arrangement confirmed separately.

Applicants should be organised, compassionate and committed to inclusive education and safeguarding. An enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK will be required.

If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to inspire young scientists and become part of a caring school community, please apply today or contact Martin at Education 365 for a friendly, informal conversation about the role.
