Martin at
Education 365 is delighted to be partnering with a welcoming secondary school
in Southwark to find an inspiring Science Teacher with a Chemistry specialism
for a rewarding maternity-cover opportunity.
We would love
to hear from knowledgeable, approachable teachers who bring warmth and
curiosity to the classroom, make pupils feel confident asking questions and
love seeing young people discover what they are capable of.
As a Science
Teacher, you will teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics across Key Stages 3 and
4, with particular strength in Chemistry. You will spark curiosity through
engaging lessons and purposeful practical work, adapt teaching to individual
needs and celebrate every step of your pupils' progress.
Beyond the
classroom, there is a fantastic opportunity to lead a Key Stage, shape creative
schemes of work, offer extra support to pupils who need it and work alongside a
friendly Science team to make learning inspiring and inclusive.
The school
would love to meet qualified teachers with a relevant degree, QTS and at least
three years of teaching experience. Strong Chemistry knowledge and teaching
experience across KS3–KS5, an understanding of GCSE and A-level requirements,
confident classroom management and experience mentoring or supporting
colleagues are particularly valued.
This is a
one-year maternity-cover position, planned from March 2027 to March 2028, with
a 32.5-hour full-time working week. Part-time working patterns may also be
considered. The published £40,389–£62,560 salary is the school's annual
full-time direct-employment scale; any agency PAYE arrangements would be
confirmed separately.
Applicants
should be organised, compassionate and committed to inclusive education and
safeguarding. An enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK will be
required.
If you are
looking for a rewarding opportunity to inspire young scientists and become part
of a caring school community, please apply today or contact Martin at Education
365 for a friendly, informal conversation about the role.
